Overview

This standard is about maintaining compliant working practices that meet internal policies, regulatory requirements and recognised quality standards. You determine the information you need, gather and analyse evidence and apply procedures and controls to maintain compliance. You keep accurate records, coordinate handovers and communicate in ways that promote inclusion and shared understanding. You monitor the working environment, respond to changes, escalate issues when 
required and support colleagues to understand their role in maintaining compliant working practices. You apply relevant leadership, management and compliance theories and models to strengthen organisational compliance. 

This standard applies to managers and leaders at all levels across all sectors.


Performance criteria

You must be able to:

  1. Determine, gather and analyse the information you need to assess compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements and recognised quality standards to support informed decisions. 
  2. Assess compliance risks that may affect operations, services or projects to support safe, lawful and reliable working practices. 
  3. Communicate and adapt your communication and behaviour in ways that uphold dignity, inclusion and colleagues’ participation when discussing compliance requirements and controls. 
  4. Apply procedures and controls that maintain compliant working practices and support consistent, reliable and lawful operations. 
  5. Maintain accurate records that demonstrate compliance and support monitoring, reporting and audit requirements. 
  6. Coordinate handovers that support continuity, clarity and shared understanding of compliance requirements. 
  7. Monitor the working environment to identify changes that may affect compliance and take proportionate action to maintain safe and lawful operations. 
  8. Develop actions that support the improvement and strengthening of compliant working practices. 
  9. Respond and escalate constructively to concerns raised by colleagues about compliance issues in line with organisational procedures to maintain safety, legality and trust. 
  10. Monitor behaviours that may affect compliance and respond in line with organisational procedures to maintain a positive and accountable working environment. 
  11. Provide information and guidance that supports colleagues to understand and maintain compliant working practices. 
  12. Review and adapt procedures, controls and handovers in response to changing conditions, regulatory updates or identified improvements. 
  13. Apply relevant leadership, management and compliance theories and models to strengthen compliant working practices. 
  14. Reflect critically on your performance and behaviour to identify improvements in how you maintain compliant working practices.

  7. The procedures and controls that support compliant working practices and reliable, lawful operations. 
  8. How to maintain accurate records that demonstrate compliance and support monitoring, reporting and audit requirements.
